Re: Merlin

Much respect to Merlin, leaving this life in his 24th amazing year. No tears for him - he lived his life wonderfully.

Hugs for you Angie - what an enormous hole in your heart and your life now.

But - it will pass. The time will come when your thoughts of The Old Campaigner will be happy ones only, when you think of him as a youngster, and when he was in his prime, not the frail old boy he had become.

Thank you for loving him enough to let him go - putting his need for rest before your need to continue to love him as a living being. Don't beat yourself up if your feelings of sadness turn to disarming feelings of relief that the responsibility is lifted from your shoulders - that is natural and human.

Be kind to yourself. You won't leave us will you? Take care x

Re: Merlin

Angie, I am so sorry. I thought this day would never come, but he had the best life any cat could ask for and is now at peace. In the short time I've been on Catsey I grew very attached to dear Uncle Merlin, and I shall miss him too.

I hope you're feeling ok, my thoughts and prayers are with you. I echo DM in encouraging you to stay on Catsey. Take care Angie x x x

Re: Merlin

dear Angie and family, I'm so sorry you have said goodbye to my dear little friend Merlin. I never met the 'old boy' but I feel I knew him well. I know you will have many many happy memories of him and that he will be sorely missed. He was a real trooper, the Grand Old Man of the Catsey clan that I have claimed for my own
Rest in Peace soldier, duty done.
