Hiya!

Hello, I have just joined catsey after being a member of dogsey for quite a time. I have one cat Bhindi who was a rescue kitten at 12 weeks old from a rescue that I used to help out so she came straight to me from her previous home and was absolutely covered in fleas and ear mites.
She is now 2 years old happy and healthy.
She loves all my dogs especially my big rottweiler cross german shepherd purring whenever she is near him. My puppy tries her patience sometimes though!
She is a house cat but will go in the garden with dogs as soon as they go in she doesn't want to be outside if I accidentally lock her out (she is tabby so camouflages really well ) she runs straight round the front and knocks the front door til the dogs tell me she is there!
I grem up all my life with cats and when i was really small we had a siamese who i used to read to in bed and she used to sleep with me due to this I want to add a siamese to my household in the not too distant future.
Well I hope that is a long enough introduction!

Hi and welcome! Hope you enjoy the forum. I was owned by a Siamese once, wonderful cats .... . but then they all are! Are you looking for a traditional one?

Re: Hiya!

Our Siamese was what I believe is called the wedgehead, which I believe is not traditional, so I think this is what I would prefer. I don't think there are any health issues linked to this is there? If there is then I would reconsider but this is what I think of when I think of a siamese. I have only just started looking into it but it seems that the wedges are less popular but this again may be a misconception!

Love your photo of Bhindi with your dog. Great that they all get on so well together. I look forward to hearing more about them all.

Re: Hiya!

The old fashioned Siamese is also known as the applehead; that's the type I had. The modern variety is much thinner, almost tubular with a whippy tail, and a longer pointed face.
