What makes you happy at Christmas?

Apart from family and friends enjoying good health, what else makes you happy around Christmastime?

The traditional Christmas music. And that people generally seem to be much nicer, even strangers smiling and wishing you Happy Holidays!

Re: What makes you happy at Christmas?

Same here Eileen, I love to hear the old traditional Christmas carols being played by the brass bands in town. We used to get quite a few carol singers come to the door at one time but they are few and far between now and when they do sing it is a Christmas pop song .....don't they teach them carols in the schools anymore?

Haven't seen carolers here in years! And I'm afraid I'm an old fogy about pop Christmas music, "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer", "Santa Baby", the barking dog song, etc. just don't do it for me...

It's lovely isn't it?! I am so excited about watching him and making it special for him and tbh I really don't give a stuff about anything else as long as he has a lovely Christmas with all his family around him and doing things together over the holidays.

Re: What makes you happy at Christmas?

I dont see any good side to Christmas. The expense, the hassle of busy shops and car parks, all the food shopping, etc. Kids are older now so they more or less know what they are getting so no real excitement. Stupid plastic tree sat in my living room - whose idea was it to have trees indoors when its Christmas - dont get it???!!!

glad when its all over to be honest.
