Daily Thread ~ Sunday

Morning all!

Another very cold, dry morning here, good for dog walkers I would think!

Nothing much planned for today except Christmassy jobs, trimming, wrapping etc.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Re: Daily Thread ~ Sunday

Still no voice! But finger and toenails are now a lovely matching shade of chocolate brown thanks to my session at the beautician - it was hell not indulging in the usual chit-chat with the girls there; my only chance for girlie chat, and all I could do was nod!

OH has just taken a protesting Sebastian (who is always protesting about something) into town, I've got a bit of vacuuming to do and then will join him with Dominik, who wants to help me vacuum Good lad

I want to go down to the Riverside at our shopping centre as they have an outdoor ice rink there. Might also take the boys down to the Abbey ruins as there is a dry surface there and they can kick a ball around without getting covered in mud.

I hope everyone's weather is as lovely and bright/crisp as ours. Eileen - I hope the blizzards pass you by!

Morning all, milder here this morning, not as frosty but still cold! Not sure what the day holds. Really ought to think about getting a Christmas tree and doing some Christmas shopping

Hope everyone has a relaxing Sunday Still sending 'no ice' vibes to Eileen!

Re: Daily Thread ~ Sunday

I hope everyone is having a good day.
Really cold here still. No frost but the ground is still frozen.
I am absolutely knackered, we have a big apple tree in our garden which has been taking the garden over and has been perilously close to our shed roof and the rooves of next doors outbuildings, none of which are in good condition and can cope with the weight of branches resting on them. So we have spent the last few hours drastically pruning the tree while managing not to destroy any rooves. Our garden looks so much bigger and lighter now that it is done and we have a massive pile of firewood stacked by the house. Sadly we don't have a fireplace, so I will take all the wood to my Mum's and maybe spend an evening or 2 in front of her fire. I reckon it will take about 20 trips in the fiesta to take it all!

Massive thanks to all who sent "no ice" vibes!! All we got in the City was a cold rain; although North and West got bad icing: some horrendous pics on the late news last night! Rain is over now, cloudy and raw, only 2 degrees. We're so lucky to have missed the icing. Going to pick holly from my back yard tree to decorate the mantel this afternoon, and finally start wrapping!

Yola: sorry you've lost your voice..
Tinker: applewood makes a lovely fire!

Enjoy the day, all!

Sounds yummy! These cold dark Winter days make you want heartier meals, don't they? I'm having ham and cabbage tonight...a stick-to-the-ribs sort of dish......

They both sound rather tasty! We're having similar, slow-cooked fennel pork with mashed potatoes. I'm SO hungry; can't wait!
