Breeding concerns

Hi people, I've just got a bit of a query...

My friends neighbour has five cats, all girls and not even one of them spayed. Since last year (from what my friend tells me) there has been litter after litter after litter. Presently she has about 16 kittens in the house all under 8 weeks old. This has been a constant cycle, with the queens becoming pregnant again whilst still nursing.

The kittens tend to be sold on places like gum tree and and trader, often as free to a good (?) home if she can't get the asking £30 for them.

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this happening? Don't think RSPCA can do anything and the cats are kept in reasonable conditions.

I just find it appalling and worryingly she is keeping one or two girls from current litters in order to "continue breeding".

Those poor cats. They will become very ill indeed if they are churing out litter after litter. The RSPCA have to investigate any complaint, perhaps if there is more than one complaint made, it may hold more water...
At the very least they will talk with her about the health risks and help her with neutering costs...
Got to be worth a try.

I feel very sorry for these poor cats, even if their other needs are taken care of ............. so many more poor little mouths being born with no thought of how they will live.

I would think that your friend's neighbour's neighbours might have grounds for making complaints to RSPCA and a good talking to from one of their officers may help. It's really all about education and making people take a more responsible attitude towards animals.

Try the cats protection league, they were very helpful when my friend rang about her neighbour who was letting her cats breed indescriminately
