Possitive thoughts needed

One of the birds I have been looking after has fallen sick and was rushed to the vets today. She is in a serious condition and may not pull through. Her white blood cell count is 11 when it should be in the 30's, very aneamic. Blood samples etc have been sent for screening, she is on oxygen, iv fluids and supplements. There is a possibility it may be cancer but we wont know for sure until all the tests have been done. The other worry is that her mate is distressed with out her...
Today has been the worst day ever.
The owner is now home and doesnt blame me for anything but is obviously very worried about her birds. If we can get her stabalised, we may take her to Edinburgh for a blood transfusion but again there are no guarantees that will help either at this stage.
Please please please send as much healing vibes as you can muster for the poor creature. xxx

Sorry to hear this Elaine, is the bird a parrot and is it being tested for beak and feather disease, it can cause a low white blood cell count.

It's one of the amazon parrots, she is being tested for everything as far as I can tell. Nadia called me late last night to say that she is still stable, well as stable as she was when we went to see her and the vet has now agreed that it is very important for the bird to know that Nadia is around and that she can visit her again today. I seriously hope she pulls through. Nadia will keep me informed.
