Re: RIP Chippy 1994-2010

Just popped back to say thankyou for the comments.

I've just been through to feed the boys (Paddy and Murphy) and it's just so strange.

Paddy and Murphy always appear (and Bramble used to) at the sound of the biscuits but sometimes they took a while.

Chippy on the other hand was always there waiting. The second I went through she would be pacing back and forth, meowing, rubbing my feet, tripping me up as I spoke to her like an idiot.

Tonight I shook the biscuits into the bowls and - nothing.

The boys turned up after a few mins and had their fill as ever but it all felt so quiet and strange.

It's hard to explain but going through to the kitchen (with no Chippy) is as alien and instantly obvious as going into the kitchen to find the table and chairs missing.

I guess it will take a few days to get used to.

On the plus side and on a lighter note - she did have a bit of a dirty night time habit in bad weather so as we get into the colder nights - we'll not have any little accidents to dodge on the kitchen floor in the mornings.

Something's missing, isn't it? I found the hardest part, silly as it seems, washing and putting the plate away for the last time .....

Oh Phil. That picture of Paddy saying goodbye has me in tears (not a good thing in a office full of people). I'm so very sorry Chippy didn't pull through, but as you well know, you did the right thing.

Many hugs to you.

Re: RIP Chippy 1994-2010

Thanks again for the recent comments.

Much appreciated.

I have a little video of Paddy washing chippy but I thought that was perhaps a bit much to share.

Anyway - Paddy and Murphy seem to be their normal selves again in fact Murphy seems quite chuffed that the cushion in the kitchen is always free for him to use. They adapt so quickly don't they.

Anyway - thanks again.
