Next Hammy

Hammy at work from the same litter as Lazarus, who is doing very well by the way, had a fight with its litter mate and was put into a different cage. When they are babies, they are fine but as they grow and mature they begin to fight, thats when we split them up. Anyway, this hammy seems very stressed and agitated. She lunges at the cage bars, screaching and puffing herself up any time you enter the room. I am going to try giving her a drop of RR to try to calm her coz I hate to see her so stressed. You know whats going to happen here dont you? She will end up like Indy and come live with me
The big worry is if I cannt get her to calm down that this stress will cause her to get wet tail, she wont be as easy to deal with as Lazarus was.

Fingers crossed it works, sounds like she needs a bit of peace and quiet Elaine, give her time to calm down...

We are doing that Moli, have also given her a little house and a hay tunnel to hide away in but she seems to always be on the look out. Hopefully she will settle very soon.

Poor girly If possible it would be best if she was moved to "the back" ie away from the public because people going past her cage all the time wont help.

Hope she'll be okay

Re: Next Hammy

Dont worry Jane the first thing I did was remove her from the shop floor and into the staff room.
She was a little bit better today but not much, I just keep telling the other staff to let her be for the next few days. Keeping an eye on her but with out harrassing her if you know what I mean.
Cannt find my bloody RR though.
