The Cat ReturnsA rather nice full length Japanese cartoon, where a girl saves a cat from death or injury on the road and becomes betrothed to him (against her will) and transported to the kingdom of cats. She spends the film trying to escape and return to the kingdom of humans. It was fun and a totally harmless way to waste an hour! Anyone else seen it? It was part of the FilmFour Japanese cartoon season.

I didn't see it - sadly. It sounds like a lovely and lyrical story. I usually make a point of watching as many foreign-language films as possible. Was it on FilmFour though? Coz I don't have that - I only have freeview which doesn't access that channel. If you like 'world cinema' did you see Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring? It was one of the candidates for the BBCFour non-English language films - one of the most simple, beautiful films I've ever seen; it was Korean. |
