project!

just did this over the last week by hand for the ferret kids. it's like the last one (sleep inside hammock) but this will be used as a mat to cover the bottom of their cage. it's a bit long because the dimensions are to fit my future cage (FN 142) that i'm saving up for. here's pix!
(colors match their nursery)

w/bear model, LOL

lining

grommets added

i am thinking of donating my practice stuff that won't be used by my boys to the nearest ferret shelter too...

Re: project!

Better and better Tink! Do you have a sewing machine or do you stitch it all by hand? And that's a nice gesture about handing in your original efforts to the shelter

That's excellent Tink - how do you go about getting those ringed hole thingies in the corners? Have you got a special tool for that?

oh well i just learned you get grommets from the store and there is a special tool inside the pack for it...you just need a hammer and the tool will do it for you.

i sew about one to two hours a day and it takes me about a week right now. i'm also pretty obsessive so like for instance this one i knotted almost every stitch b/c i want it to last a long time and that could also be why so long. that and my hand cramps into a "c" if i sew for too long, LOL.

Re: project!

Those are just great, Tink; I'm awed at your talent doing all that by hand and so well! Lucky boys! And a lovely idea about the donations.
