Re: Book Club

OK dokey, I will order Suite Française now, but I read all the comment on TTW and remembered how good I thought it. Might have to re-read it!

End of the month sounds fine to me. I'll put a hold on it at the library, should get it in about a week. I'm a fast reader.

OK - I'm trying to find out what the other book is so I can order the two together. And read them together - I hope they are not too similar!!!

Re: Book Club

I received my book from Amazon yesterday.

If anyone is interested the other book for the "other book club" is called A Wild Sheep Chase by Haruki Murakami, a very popular Japanese writer.

Oh co-inkydink! I got my copy of Suite Francais yesterday too, also from Amazon!

Started it yesterday too, the writing is really quite beautiful and evocative.

Re: Book Club

I've just realised I am completely out of the loop with the Book Club, sorry for going AWOL everyone; don't mean to appear so rude! I just didn't really have time for reading with all that is going on at the mo.

I'll try pick up a copy of Suite Francaise in town tomorrow and get reading When was the date to have read by?

Drat! I knew I'd forgotten something in my bid to stop Sebi disappearing into every shop on the high street - meant to go to Smiths or Waterstones and forgot both

Re: Book Club

I am going to have trouble finishing this book by the 1 April. I spent most of this week trailing back and forth to the hospital with my Mum. She was taken poorly at the beginining of the week and admitted to the hospital - not and excuse but yes it is - isn't it?

Re: Book Club

Oh, sorry to hear about your Mum; hope she'll be OK. Not a problem with the book, can always advance the date. That is definitely an excusable reason! Let us know how she's doing .......
