Re: Age and "baggy" bellies

Baggy Bellies - the cat equivalent of bingo wings

My two are sisters from the same litter. One has a BB (from about the age of 7), the other not. The one with a BB has always been more active and goes out much more, but is also bigger than her sister but not at all overweight. They were both spayed at the same time.

Reckon it's luck of the draw

It's nice to know that there are several more saggy bellies out there besides mine (oops I mean Cassies ).

Re: Age and "baggy" bellies

All my girl cats have or had "hangy-down tummies" as a friend of mine calls it...the boys, no. I think Misty was about 5 or 6 when she developed one, but she was the most exercise averse cat !!! Leia is developing one now; she turned 7 in March. Actually, I shouldn't have said "all"; Patches has been a skinny cat all her life & is still a skinny cat at 20! Misty was spayed at 5 months; Leia at 4. It's funny to watch when they tear through the house with the tummy swaying from side to side lol

Re: Age and "baggy" bellies

Jet was spayed at 6 months. When i took her to vet for a check up I asked about her hanging belly, he said it's because she has been spayed. I thought she was putting on weight. Again her belly goes from side to side when she is walking.
