Re: Tortie and whites

Cassie as a kitten was such a poppet; grown to be the most gorgeous girl. Tanya was a stunner too: love that expression, Yola. "lowering herself"...I know exactly what you mean but had never put it into words! Miw is a lovely cat!

Patches was all tortie, no white, but she too was nervous and spooky around strangers also. A tortie thing?

Re: Tortie and whites

Don't torties look amazing when caught in sunlight? It just brings the colours in their fur to life SO much, moreso than other colour of cat I think.

Oh I agree, Tink, she's definitely a torbie: look at that ringed tail and her bi-colored tabby "M"! I think she and Leia are the only torbies on the Forum!

Re: Tortie and whites

A tortie has a mix of red (orange) and black, either is distinct patches of color, or mixed together (brindled tortie). And if there is white, she's a tortie and white. A torbie (tortoisehell tabby) has a tortie coat but tabby markings, usually on tail, face, legs. Leia is a dilute brindled torbie.

Re: Tortie and whites

I'm confused as to whether Bailey is Tortie and White or Torbie now. one of her rear thighs and leg is Ginger Tabby markings but the rest is mixes of orange, brown and black with white cotton socks and chest and stomach.

Here she is looking proud, most recent!
