Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

Do you think maybe he is frightened or just plain and simply does not like cats my sister dislikes cats (I know I offered to pay for theraphy but she would not go ) and she waves her hand and goes "Tssskkkk" when cats approach her, she would never hurt them but she does not like them especially when they weave round your legs. He did not hit her just wanted her gone, its what you do isn't it, I do it to dogs who approach me "shooooo" and I move cats out of the garden in a similar way.

Pardon my mouth, but what an ass! Had I have been in your situation I likely would have gotten myself into a lot of trouble. >.< I can't handle idiots who have the nerve to raise their hand to any animal, let alone one so close to me! RGH!! *hugs* I'm sorry your neighbor was such a blockhead.

Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

Some people are just plain nasty. But what you would say after isn't always the way you react at the time as you are so shocked that anyone would ever do such a thing.
Denis was on mine and my neighbours ajoining fence one day and she was in the garden on the phone watering her hanging baskets with a spray gun. I only went in for a second and I saw her through the window spraying Denis in the face.......
I rushed out and she pretended to be talking on the phone. I took Denis in and said very loudly 'How very nasty to spray you baby when you are just sitting on your fence'. She knew that I had seen her. I was furious as she knows he is a very timid cat and we have had enough trouble getting him to stop being so jumpy.
the saga goes on but will post all this on another page

Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

Elaine, I admire your restraint more than I can say!!! I'm afraid I would have gone ballistic, but that definitely could cause problems for Eva and Bernie when you weren't in the garden with them. That was a wise thing to do, but if he ever hits them I'd like to come over and help Graham break his legs......

Glad you were restrained Elaine, best to be in those situations, however if anybody hurt my cats, I would break into their home and murder them whilst they slept ......<< ----- can you tell that I might be a tad annoyed!!!! lol

Re: I caught a neighbour lifting his hand to Eva

Just to clarify some very valid points that Kazz made.
I have seen this guy several times in the garden, he never talks even if you say hello to him, I have never seen him react like this before and by the way he was crashing around in his shed, I had the impression that something had angered him.
I dont mind if people are afraid or dont like cats (dont understand it but each to their own) and to shoo an animal away is one thing but the force at which he swung his arm at her and you could almost here the venom in his voice when he tsssk'd at her. These things made me feel that Eva was almost to bear the brunt of something which wasnt conected to her or what she was doing.
Should there be another instance then Graham will be going round to pay him a visit.
