when should they poohI notice one of them had yellow stains on her leg. Maisey washed most of it off though. They are three weeks tomorrow could it be the start of them going to the toilet. Havent seen any big ammounts. Last question i intend to change there bedding daily or should it be twice daily.

Not sure tbh Jane. Mother cat always cleans them up nicely, doesn't she? Pip (since 9 weeks old) is a twice a day boy! Presumably because his gut is so small. He is a good boy and uses his litter tray. Has only once peed where he shouldn't. |

Without sounding grosse i saw one kitten with it down her leg. She realy does wash them well though. Getting a litter tray for the kittens on wednesday. |

Can't help with this as I've never had newborns. I know mum cat keeps them cleaned up, hope someone here with experience can advise. |

She uses the litter tray. She wont go outside untill she gets over her spey after they are weaned |

They will start going as soon as they can walk to the litter tray, mum will keep cleaning up 'til then and after if they go in the bed but best to have one right next to the bed to start with so they don't have to go far. As soon as they are up and about they will start using it. |

I've always given my hand-reared babies a litter tray from 3 weeks onwards. Even without mum they quickly got the hang of it! I'd steer clear of using clay-based litters though-we had a kitten that had ingested it, causing the intestine to become blocked and rupture.  |

Sorry, would love to give you some advice  But I am only vet nurse trained, wouldn't want to misled anybody... Hope you get the answers you need Kado for the little ones. Yip, catsan is great! (couldn't help, helping a wee bit)  |
