Thanks Eileen, there are currently four different reds visiting the feeding box I have set up, hopefull there will be some babies shortly. There is an established colony of reds about 5 miles from me and they are starting to filter out into the surrounding countryside, we all keep a watch for the greys, there have been one or two in the area I believe. Our local Gamekeeper is on the lookout as well
All hail to your Gamekeeper !!!

thanks Dawn......those squirrels have been dealing with the Siamese for the last two years, this fella will be a piece of cake for them. He also has a collar with a very loud bell on.

I have read that cats do account for a large amount of fatalities in red squirrels but I have watched these ones a lot and they are very aware of the cats, there are quite a few farm/ferals in the area. Perhaps because there are a lot of cats in the area they have learned to be extra vigilant?....

I did wonder what I was going to see. Your so lucky to have reds, we just have grey's here. Still nice to watch but very distructive.
Your boy is a stunner, my heart would have been in my mouth Het watching him up there. He didn't seem bothered at all did he? Is he very agile? Love the tail.

Re: Very odd looking Squirrel!

Thanks Luke...he loves the dogs, and likes to run round with them when they're playing ball. Hes not one for cuddling in to them like the Siamese are, but he does like to be involved. At the rate hes growing hes gonna end up the same size as Zack!!
