Cat safe glue???

Can anyone suggest a glue that's safe to use on a cat scratch post? The rope is coming off one of the legs of my cat tree and I wondered if there's anything safe I can stick it back on with ......... PVA???

I know superglue is toxic.

What about garden twine, wrapping it round the unravelled sisal rope in multiple layers until it is firmly in place and then just tying? You gan buy the twine quite cheaply on eBay
