Plants in the flat

These are the ones that made the cut. An epiphillium, night blooming cereus, crown of thorns and a spider plant went down to the greenhouse. I didn't bring any of the amaryllis; just too many of them, they've moved in with Chris! If any of the longer term members remember what Alex called the jungle room at my old house, this is what remains. I miss them, but there's only so much room!!

Re: Plants in the flat

She, and her predecessors, have been very good at not plant-eating, Lynz. The others were all harness trained and ate grass outside; I pick some for Leia that she eats carefully blade by blade. She refuses to eat the bought cat grass ... Actually, I forgot that Patches the tortie did eat a small palm tree, but I put it where she couldn't reach it.

I feel sure Chris will look after the amaryllis, Eileen. You could always buy a bulb to grow in your room, that would look lovely

Of all the amaryllis that you've grown in the past, do you have a favourite?

Yes, Picotee, the white with a red edge. It's vigorous and a reliable re-bloomer, too.

This is a better pic than mine outside reblooming in the Summer; it's from a catalogue and shows the edging more clearly.

Looks very nice Eileen, are you and the plants both enjoying those full length windows?

Have you spoken to whoever it was about putting the other plants in the greenhouse yet?

Re: Plants in the flat

I am a plant lover too, but have to say that I am death to houseplants and don't have any ..... do like that Picotee, but it would be bound to get "Pipped" or "Monty'd". I think Kizzy is the only four-legs I'd trust with an indoor plant.
