Anyone - any idea what this tiny very pretty blue flower is?

I think you are right, i was looking it up online last night & closest i coukd see too. Alas now gone as the gardener cut it down with the grass last week

Thanks MrsH! That was puzzling me - locally as children we called it Birds Eye View and I couldn't recall it's proper name!

I wasn't familiar with it so Googled Speedwell; yep, that's it. Beautiful shade of blue.

It will come up again before he comes back, think i will dig it out & pop it in a pot, being a weed, its bound to spread to even around the pot

My mum used to have what (i think) were called - wild violets, growing in her garden

Some weeds are lovely dont you think

A "weed" is just a matter of place really! Wild flower is what that pretty little Speedwell is!

have wild violets in my yard, both the common blue, and the Confederate blue and white. Lovely!
