Is "Wendy" a Torbie?

At last we have a name we both agree on so Honey is now "Wendy".

On looking closer at Wendy tonight i was amazed to see tabby ginger markings both sides along with black patches & some smaller brown patches, so question is does that make her a Tortie with white or a Torbie or something else?

Re: Is "Wendy" a Torbie?

I'd venture to say she's a torbie and white like my Kuan Yin.
As she gets older you may notice the solid areas will turn into striped as she fills out and grows up. But I think the ginger stripes probably settle it. Lovely girl

I've just gone back to look at Wendy Honey's picture ...... IMO her colouring is more like Mags' Cassie.

Why am I thinking calico and white?

Calico is what I initially thought when I saw the photo too. But if she can see ginger tabby stripes close up then I believe she'd be torbie and white because calicos have no striping..(?)

Yes, in Velvet's thread "Kitten with Attitude" I could certainly see ginger stripes, so torbie and white she is!

I got on too late to weigh in on this, so just add that I agree: she's torbie and white ..... and a little darling. It was good to see Kuan Yin as a kitten again!

How strange Cassie is registered as a tortoiseshell by the vet and she has stripes on her ginger patches but the other colours are solid.

You can see Cassie's stripes in this pic.....

Re: Is "Wendy" a Torbie?

Mags, is it possible your vet's computer only has limited color options? Leia is officially a "Grey DSH" at mine; when I tried to get it changed to blue torbie or dilute brindled tortoiseshell was told no such categories available! Ah, technology!!

Actually, I never noticed Cassie's stripes in her ginger before......
