Leia with her latest mouse

She was half-way dozing beside me last evening, then suddenly took off like a heat-seeking missile, dashed under the love seat and emerged after a thump and thud with Mr. Mouse. I feel sort of sorry for the wee thing, but it did choose to move into a house with a cat.

This is graphic, don't look if it might make you squeamish.

Re: Leia with her latest mouse

That's a big juicy mouse too - did she eat it? Kizzy always eats hers and Pip ate his first vole just this week. Shrews are left once dead.

Well done Leia - Ace Huntress!

No neither she, nor any of mine, have ever eaten their mice. They get binned after they've died and are no longer fun to play with, just boring. "Food comes in tins"

Clever Leia but poor mouse! The field next to has just been harvested to Smudge and Tolly will be patrolling the edge waiting for the small furries to emerge......

The instinct is there. For an indoor cat whose mother never taught her to hunt, she is a terrific mouser!

Re: Leia with her latest mouse

Kizzy is a good mouser and I think she showed Pip how to do it - she started by bringing in live (eeeeek!) creatures just like a mother cat would.

I have a feeling that Harley has never caught anything!

Re: Leia with her latest mouse

That is exactly what the mother cat does, Angie, isn't that nice that she taught Pip!
I'm afraid Leia wold starve if she had to support herself outside as a stray!
