they'll be day olds. one likkle day only!

We burnt the old pen when the chickens went to chicken heaven via Mr Foxy because it was old.
We wern't going to get any more but i've decided I want some, so John said he'll make me a new pen.
Only problem with having day olds is they won't be sexed & we can't have a cock-a-doodle-do here, the lady who sells them will take back unwanted cockerals... so it's deciding how many to get allowing for the boys.

Yes, although I haven't seen him for a while. We do have a fox proof run...in fact a rhino wouldn't get in or out of it as it's made from weld mesh panels that were actually from some kennel runs... we'd kept chickens for a while & never lost one, but if you remember my daughter collected the eggs & left the chickens in the garden, but then shut their pen so they couldn't get to bed, foxy took all 7 of them. Luckily therewasn't any mess, he'd taken everything, just left a few feathers. I cried....

Erin - day old chicks can be yellow & fluffy, or sometimes other colours.

I want day olds instead of point of lay (which are around 20 weeks) even though i'd know the sexes, I just like having baby things!
