Re: The day Her Majesty tamed the President!

My parents built a house beside Dyce/Aberdeen airport, many many years ago, I was about 2 or 3 then and the airport wasnt really an airport, it was a very small airodrome with gliders and things. Anyway as a child growing up, my friends and I used to see the Queen and family when they would arrive at Aberdeen airport for their summers at Balmoral. We used to wave to them and on a couple of occasions they actually waved back at us. We were literally accross the street from them as they got off the plane. My friend and I used to have our little picnics on the grass by the runway

I'm a huge fan of the royal family, and the Queen in particular. I always remember going to see her as a child when she came to Glasgow, and what stuck in my mind was the lovely serene smile on her face and the fact that she stopped to talk to as many as she could despite the fact it was pouring with rain!
