Re: Signs life

I noticed that when I had my day in the garden on Friday. Won't be long until the snowdrops are in flower. It amazes me they survive in freezing weather and always look lovely.

Re: Signs life

No signs of my snowdrops or daffodils, but it's been a bitter Winter so far.

I did notice the birds are beginning to sing in the mornings again ,,,,,,,,,,

Daffodils about 6 inches high now . . . this time last year they were thinking about flowering! Just goes to show what happens when we have a bit of a 'real' winter! My crocuses never made it; I planted lots in the lawn but they didn't seem to like it

Re: Signs life

I love to see the snowdrops in the garden, first signs of Spring. I ust confess that I always bring a few indoors too, don't last long, but I can look at their beauty. They always remind me of my mum too, she adored these perfect little flowers.

Yola - I have crocus in the lawn and they're not showing as yet.

I know we are about 3 or 4 weeks behind in things springing to life but is there a chance they may come yet or is this year 2?

Re: Signs life

Yola, if you have grey squirrels you probably won't have crocuses. Apparently they are delicious. I put in a dozen camassias this Autumn, wonder if any will have not been eaten? (Sorry, on my soapbox again!)

Re: Signs life

I have snowdrops coming up - will keep an eye open for the first one to flower! Perhaps we all should - bit like the first cuckoo call in The Times ..... ?
