Thursday daily.

Good morning everyone and welcome to Thursday. Gosh, the weeks seem to be going so very quickly. It'll be Christmas again before we know it.

Some sad news today, i'm afraid.Brenna's young cat, Arlo ,was killed on the road last night. The two older children are very upset. Brenna said that in a couple of weeks now, they would be moving into their new home, a long way away from any main roads and Arlo would have loved it and been quite safe, but sadly it was not to be. She rang me this morning to tell me, and it made me feel quite sick. Arlo was a beautiful wee calico kitty and a terrible hunter. Brenna said she never thought Arlo crossed the road, but the paddocks on the other side must have been too tempting for her, poor wee thing.

I went back to have my BP check today, which is still high, and I asked my doctor to let me try the medication the cardiologist has recommended. She was VERY reluctant to put me on it due to possible side effects, including a possible rise in potassium levels leading to heart palpatations and even heart failure. Now i don't know who to believe - her or the specialist.Anyway, i have got the medication but now not sure if i will take it. She has made me too frightened. The whole thing seems ridiculous, really, as so many people do have BP problems and don't seem to have all this trouble with meds.

PAMELA,sorry you were so busy at work yesterday and finished later than usual. At least you managed to fit in a run, albeit a wet and windy one.. Good thing you managed to have a lovely hot shower when you got home ,to thaw out, and Steven making dinner was the icing on the cake. I hope he's a good cook. My subway wasn't very nice - i had a falafel one and it was really spicy Your favourite one sounds much nicer. I don't have subway much at all as I think it's too expensive for what it is, but Janna was with me and she wanted it, so I relented.

Thinking about wee Skye today and hoping all is well with her, Pamela.

SHELLEY, how was your virtual doll market yesterday ? I bet you enjoyed it. I wonder if you were tempted to buy anything ?That's a good idea about purchasing a BP monitor, and I'll seriously think about it. I went on trademe and discovered ,to my surprise, that they weren't as expensive as I thought they would be. You must be looking forward to your two week break - not long to go now.

YOLA and KAZZ, hope all is well with you both. Yola, hope your heel is feeling less painful now. Kazz,, hope your work at the the covid centre and your rubbish collections are both going well.

Well everyone, I'm going to give Brenna a ring now ,and find out out how the children are. What a horrible day for them all.

Let's hope the sun shines for everyone today.

Re: Thursday daily.

Aw Dinky - that's awfully sad news about little Arlo. It's why my cats are indoor, except when I can supervise them in the back garden. We live on a very busy road so it can't be any other way. I hope the children are alright, it always hits them so very hard x

Subway? I have to agree with you. Not a fan. I've only ever had a flatbread one they offer and that was only because I was setting up an exhibition and they were one of the only food concession open. However, that smell of warm lettuce you get when you walk past one of their stores makes me want to heave.

BP meds. Difficult call. I'd be tempted to go with the cardiologist. Is it worth having another call with them to allay your worries?

Pamela - working late when it's not scheduled isn't much fun. I remember in my early working days when I was still a graphic designer there was an urgent job - we had pharma clients and they were VERY demanding. All the senior (male) creatives disappeared down the pub and then home and left me in the studio, on my own, until almost midnight. I was fuming. I'd never do that to one of my team now - would always be with them to get the job finished. Needless to say, I moved on from there fairly swiftly.

Today? Not much happening. Last working day of the week for me. Dinky - we have a TV presenter, Kate Garraway whose husband has been in hospital with Covid/Covid fall out, for a year. She has documented it in a TV programme. I had the idea yesterday that we should offer one of our homelifts to them for if and when he leaves hospital and returns home - obviously in return for opportunities to promote it. But today I found out a rival occupational therapist who is not a fan of our product, is working with her. It's going to make it more difficult but I'm still going to give it a try. Watch this space

Right - got to get on, the day has started. Laters potaters
