You know the old saying Moli - a rook by himself is a crow and a flock of crows are rooks. Think that means that rooks are gregarious and crows more solitary. Are they nesting near you? I actually like the sound of a rookery - constant activity!

Your goldfinches are enjoying the peanuts - mine love that black niger seed - have you tried that?

Good work with the new camera!

We have woods opposite our house, and the rooks nest there, there are hundreds of them.....
Never tried black niger seeds, must get some.

Re: Birds...

Lovely pics, Moli! I didn't know you had goldfinches in the UK!! They love niger seed...ours migrate South for the Winter, won't be back until late Summer when the thistles are blooming: they like to line their nests with the thistledown... must remember to put out cat fur!
