computer virus (help with saving data)

My computer has a virus.
Having real problems with it and we need to try & save our photos to discs before the PC goes to the PC doctor!
I have my laptop so am able to pop on from time to time, but don't think I can post photos until the PC is better. (If it gets better)

ANyoe know how to save the photos onto disc?

Re: computer virus (help with saving data)

On my PC I save them all into one folder. Add cd into drive and then open the pic file. I'm then given option of burn or copy to disc. I just click yes and let it get on with it.

Do hope you get the virus thing sorted asap. Annoying isn't it?

Be careful you don't copy the virus onto the disc along with your photos. Perhaps ask you PC doctor.

Do you have any CD recording software like Nero ??, or an external hard drive or usb flash drive?

Best to just copy your my documents folder and and other folders you use before sending it away.

should be able to do this by going into My documents and , goto file menu and select edit , "select all"
then edit menu and select "Copy"
then goto the location you want to copy the files to and select paste.

Re: computer virus (help with saving data)

that's good news,
Once you have the system back up and running install a good Anti virus software like Kaspersky. AVG and Norton are very poor.
