I am so sorry to read this. I respect your decision to let her enjoy life and not put her through a lot of poking and prodding. If the fluid build up is due to her heart then perhaps diuretics would help. Our cat Alfie had huge fluid build up and was not hyperthyroid-the diuretics took the fluid away and he was much more comfortable not having to carry all that weight around. I am sure your vet will support you in the best way possible for Chippy. |

Chippy is not so good tonight. She's a bit less mobile (or at least choosing to be) and it seems that one of her eyes has become fully dilated since this morning. I've spoken to the vet and she asked to see Chippy tonight. |

Thanks folks. I'm sorry to say that Chippy had a bad day today and had just too much going against her so after consultation with our vet we made the decision to let her go. xx |

I am so sorry to hear about Chippy - I have lost feline friends due to old age and I agree whole heartedly that its best to let them enjoy their quality of life while they have it and when their time is up and that quality is going then we have to help them peacefully along their journey. I have a 16 year old at the moment and I know what a worry it is as they grow older. I hope your other puss cats are nt missing Chippy too much although you are bound to be - you did everything you could for her, remember that. Jan x |
