Re: Cystitis and Something Else (Poppet)

She's completely recovered from her cystitis, but the vet's concerned because she's just not gaining weight at all. Her fur's very scruffy. She's had blood and urine samples taken, been scanned, she's got a slightly thickened bowel so she's not getting the nourishment from her food, she's had two sets of tablets but the first set she would not take at all despite having two people holding her down and trying to push the tablets down her throat, so the vet prescribed the second tablets which she'll take in her food. She's having a B12 injection every week, but the vet's found a round object at the top of her liver (too close to her heart for them to do anything except monitoring it) She's going for another scan in a couple of weeks.

Apart from all that she's still a perfectly happy and loving girl.

(That's the general gist of it all)

Oh dear, poor Poppet. Glad at least the cystitis is cleared up, but the weight loss and growth are worrying. Hope the meds will help and a second scan will be more indicative of what's wrong. Do let us know how the little girl is doing.

Re: Cystitis and Something Else (Poppet)

Sudden thought: could cystitis be caused by stress?

I believe it is a common cause, RCR, although not the only one.

I was just thinking maybe Poppet's cystitis is/was caused by Dylan not leaving her alone? (he loves pestering her to play)

Poppet's at the vets today, the vet wants to do a biopsy on her lump.

Re: Cystitis and Something Else (Poppet)

I have my fingers crossed for Poppet. I'll ask Kizzy to put in a word with The Great Cat. We seem to have a growing list of Catsey (or associated!) cats to mention.
