feeding raw chicken wings

Hi I thought I would try the cats with some raw food for a treat and bought them some chicken wings. I gave one to buster and tilly and they didn't eat it but. Ziggy and Zia wing seems to have disappeared.
So my slightly daft question is are they supposed to eat the whole thing or is there usually the bone left?

I thought they would eat the meat and leave a well chewed bone for me to pick up. Both cats are healthy looking and happy but I can't seem to see the bone. So before I turn the room upside down I thought I would ask whether it was supposed to be there or not.

thanks for your help
A panicking Tilly

My boys eat every morsel and beg for more! Haven't had an issue yet. Raw bones are soft and go down and through the system easier. They should be fine.

Kobster - at what age would you start feeding chicken wings roughly?

Re: feeding raw chicken wings

I only have experience of feeding our puppy raw wings , i was put off before i tried the cats.
I know many people successfuly feed them to their dogs and i know cats catch birds etc and eat them.
When i fed the wings to Malaika she tended to gulp them down so i then tried holding on to it while she ate, however on more than one occasion she screamed as it went down so that was the end of the chicken wings for me.

Re: feeding raw chicken wings

I've had no success trying to feed chicken wings to cats, they just turned their noses up, but our dog has had them since he was 8 weeks old, actually earlier than that as the breeder had fed them for a couple of weeks before we picked him up. At first I held them horizontally for him so he had to crunch and chew them (they make a very satisfying sound!) He gets them instead of his usual supper a couple of times a week. He'll eat them straight from the fridge but I usually put them in a plastic bag and put them in hot water for a few minutes, makes them a bit more tempting!

Started Ninja at 8 months. Started Sully at the same time, he was 3 1/2 years.
