Jitterbug

This is our beautiful baby Jitterbug. We found Jitterbug at the dumpster of a restaurant. She was just hanging around waiting on us to show up. She had a neck injury that makes her walk with a head tilt. Some days she looks almost normal and other days she has a pretty noticeable tilt. The bad days are few and far between and the vet does not want to start cortisone shots until he has to.
When we found her she had no balance and everytime she shook her head she fell over. She was about 8 months old and weighed only 4 pounds. She was so skinny that when she put on weight it took us a few days to realize it was not the right kind of weight. Poor baby was pregnant. It was too late to prevent the pregnancy and all we could do was help her through it. She had four beautiful kittens. One black and white and three solid white(each one of the white kittens has one blue eye and one gold eye, sadly, one of her babies is the one we lost to hemabartonella.).
Today Baby Bug as we usually call her is a happy, mostly healthy cat. She doesn't have much to do with her babies as a mom but loves to play as she is actually only about 8 months older than they are.
Whew, here is the long story of Jitterbug!

How lucky for baby Bug that you found her! She's a really pretty cat, and to have gone thru so much so young....

Re: Jitterbug

we practiced many names on her and this one just fit. she comes to her name when you call her. she gave us four beautiful babies and after they were weaned she decided she was still a kitten herself and she started playing and never looked back. She was also soooooo hungry. She ate constantly for quite a while but now she is secure that the food will always be there.

Re: Jitterbug

What a lovely story! Some of them never get over being hungry and homeless. My Misty was a little lost kitten that I took in at about 3 months, and to the day she died at 19 1/2 she always ate everything in sight as she still remembered the days there was no food .......
