Re: Hydrangea

Looking good! I've seen lots of nice hydrangea in Scotland - do you think it's the acid soil? I know I couldn't grow them here.

Re: Hydrangea

That's so pretty!!! Looks like mine should, except mine's been shunted around so much this year due to garden being remodelled that it looks a bit tatty around the edges

Not sure DM. I have 2 or 3 of them that are doing really well, my neighbour had a beautiful purple/blue one...

Re: Hydrangea

They're pretty tough shrubs: color is dependant on soil Ph: acidic & they're blue, alkaline and they're pink. We have acidic soil here so they're blue. That's a lovely picture!

Re: Hydrangea

Looks just like mine, but mine is in a big tub so I can control its colour. It has been affected by the hot weather in spite of regular watering. Several of its new shoots got frazzled by the sun and I have had to cut them back Logoes

Re: Hydrangea

Clever idea, Logoes; never thought of growing them in a tub, but of course it would work and easy to control the Ph!! The things I learn on CP!! Like growing potatoes in a tub, which I plan to do next year
