My acer has turned the most beautiful red this autumn, this is the brightest I've seen it in all the years I've had it..........

Re: Acer

beautiful colour. Mine lost all its leaves at the last strong winds. Think I might have to move it as it is in a wind corridor.

Never thought to fleece it - do you think it helps?

I always cover mine with a big fleece 'jacket' when the leaves have dropped.......I tie it right down around the base of the pot to protect it. It stays on until March .......I'm not sure how it would fare without it but I don't want to take the risk of losing it.

Mags I think you have an Ernie there you know. He's going to outgrow that pot soon isn't he. He has come on leaps and bounds this year hasn't he?Looking good mine have started to loose their leaves already. Oh and baby green acer has gone in the garden......scary stuff like leaving home.

I hope it doesn't outgrow the pot yet, the pot is big.....also very heavy!

Have you still got your 'red' one Kazz or did you lose it?
