My dog is ok.

Yesterday my dog was very lame & had a lot of heat in her left shoulder. I was worried about the heat & got the vet to see her. He was very concerned it may be osteosarcoma (bone cancer) because of the symptoms, lameness, pain, swelling, heat and the fact that her breed are very prone to cancer. So she was booked to have it x-rayed today. I have been worried sick all day, but it seems her shoulder is fine. looks like she has an infection which has got in through a scrape on her pads & gone up her leg.
So a course of antibiotics & some pain relief & hopefully she'll be ok.

Nearly gave me a bloomin' heart attack yesterday!

oh & thanks Kazz for listening & being there (as always)

Oh Smudgley - thank goodness!
I'm glad I didn't know about this before - I would have been frantic with you .... we lost our last dog (Danny the lurcher) to osteosarcoma in his shoulder. Horrible thing.

Bung in those antibiotics (and maybe a Yakult or three, to keep her gut in order) Hugs to you both

You mean I can uncross my fingers and - Thank God - worrying all day and hardly slept last night.

Thank God and Kelly I am so very very pleased as I said to you Carli is one of the nicest dogs I've ever ever met - honestly.

Re: My dog is ok.

we've lost 2 of our dogs before to it & it's a very aggressive type of cancer.

I read somewhere last night that 75% of FCR's die from cancer. Can't believe that, I know it's bad in the breed, but that means 3 quaters of them die from cancer. Seems a bit high to me.
