Re: Leia's rabies shot

Oh bless, Im sure all will be fine. Just remember, it will not be as bad as she makes it out to be. Our cats scream for Scotland at the mere hint of a vet!

Re: Leia's rabies shot

Good vibes from me and mine- I'm sure she'll be fine but don't they just know how to tug those heart strings with the wailing!?!

Re: Leia's rabies shot

Miki, it's mandantory here; every three years. But not enforced in any way, Leia is 13, had her rabies shot as a kitten, and as she is an indoor only cat, never again. But the retirement complex I've moved into requires it, I have no choice.

Spent part of the evening researching reactions to the rabies vaccine....

Worry, worry, worry ....

Re: Leia's rabies shot

But I am sure she will be fine, don't worry. Usually over-vaccinated animals develop some negative symptoms, but yours probably wont, cause she was not over-vaccinated...(I vaccinate mine every 3 yrs cause we travell out of country and they are OK, no bad reactions)

I am sending you good vibes!

Re: Leia's rabies shot

Thanks, all. I'm probably worrying unnecessarily, but a vet visit is so stressful for both of us, and she picks up on my reaction, which doesn't help ....

Yes, I've seen it in Whole Foods, but never bought any ... normally we both lead a very stress-free life! Too late now!

Re: Leia's rabies shot

LOL, Alex! She isn't loud as much as a pitiful sort of dying wail as if she's in great agony ... it's hard to describe but it certainly gets to you! They do know how to push our buttons, don't they?
