Leia and plants

On the warm radiator cover watching the plants .......that's a ruellia seedling in the pot in front of her ...

That hanging down plant is a 40+ year old Christmas cactus .....

Re: Leia and plants

She looks as if she has found a nice warm spot. She is such a pretty colour.

What colour is the ruellia going to be?

My xmas cactus at 12 years is a baby compared to yours!!! I noticed yesterday a small one I have has buds on it already.

Re: Leia and plants

She looks in her element there! At one with nature and what a lot of gorgeous plants you have!

A coincidence you posted some of Leia and plants; I looked up 'toxic plants and cats' on google today, as I noticed Minsky sniffing round one of mine. Turns out, after some research, it is considered dangerous to cats!! So I quickly put it outside the flat and will get rid of it tomorrow. Sadly, as it is a gorgeous, quite large striped dragon plant. I've had it since I got them and they're both fine, but don't want to tempt fate. Luckily my wee jade plant isn't on the 'list'. I also read that lillies + cats are a no-no

All the plants you have there look gorgeous though Nice to know there are still some out there that we can enjoy alongside cats!

Heres a pic. Its a half-hardy perennial, will have to bring indoors in Winter. A gorgeous violet blue and blooms all Summer!

I had no idea Christmas cacti lived that long! A friend at work gave me a cutting years ago, still with me!

Don't know that one, Meep, but a shame it had to go. Lilies are extremely dangerous to cats! In that pic there is the old Christmas cactus, a succulent I'm training as a bonsai, an aloe, an African violet, a begonia, a night-blooming cereus and an amaryllis...all safe for cats. Fortunately, Leia doesn't bother with them!
