No-one seems to know as it's so rare, it's one of those cases that happens one in a million times. Even the spinal specialist had to research on it before our appointment. It cannot be cured or even treated it's just something she will have to live with and adapt to and see how she goes. So far she only seems to be getting better at using her legs so we are not worried. The main concern is that where the hole in her spine is there is nothing protecting the spinal cord, so we have to be extra careful of any playing and climbing e.t.c that she does.

It's also been advised that we don't vaccinate her. She will be an indoor only cat anyway but it's still a bit of a concern as all our cats have always been vaccinated so we've never had that on our minds.

Mags is right, she is a very special little girl , I am sure she will adapt, so nice to know we can see her growing up....She looks such a cuddle bum!

Love the name Coco. There's a cat around where i live looks exactly the same. She is realy realy beautiful lovely pic as well.
