R.I.P Minke July 2000 - 16th July 2009.

We are utterley heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful cat, Minke.

She passed away suddenly last night whilst at my side. She was cuddled up next to me (as always) and her head just flopped back. I knew straight away that she had gone and the only thing that I can be grateful for is that she was asleep and did not suffer. She was in good health and was only 9 years old.

Minke will leave a huge void in our lives she was such a beautiful gentle, loving cat who just loved to snuggle up with us. She did not purr, she chirrped! Such a lovely sound which we will miss so much.

The unfairness of it all is that Minke was only with us for just over 2 years, we got her and Molly (her mum) from a rescue centre. Sadly they had spent 2 years in the shelter waiting for someone to give them a chance. We feel very honored that we gave them both that chance.

Night night baby Minke, sleep tight.

So very, very sorry to read your sad news, Susan...

Minke sounds like she was the most wonderful cat ........ you gave her two years of love and devotion which she may not have otherwise had if you hadn't rescued her.

The pain feels so raw for you at this sad time but it will get easier, eventually your tears will be replaced by smiles at all the lovely memories you hold so dear of her.

Take care, both of you...

Sleep sweetly Minke ....... xx

Sorry to hear this. But at least she died in a happy, loving environment.

RIP Minke

Thank you all ever so much for your replies, they mean so much.

We were absolutely in bits when it happened. Still trying to come to terms with Minke's sudden departure.

Minke has been buried in our back yard, in a beautiful red pot. We have planted a gorgeous yellow & green shrub that will have red flowers later on. We thought that it would suit Minke's character, sunny, bright and a little bit on the crazy side. We know that Minke would have approved!

That's a lovely idea, Susan. A lot of our members have planted a tree/shrub in memory of their dear departed cats. My babies are all buried in the back garden that they used to enjoy.

I am so very sorry for your loss and the shock of it is obviously still raw for you and your family. Minke did indeed look like a lovely cat from your photos and I suppose if any of us could choose then that would be the way to go. She looked so much like my lovely Smudge. RIP beautiful girl.
