Getting rid of the smell of petrol

I went to the garage yesterday evening and there was petrol on the ground which got onto the bottom of my trouser legs. Didn't notice until I got home and went to change trousers.

I have laundered them today but they still smell strongly. Does anyone have any hints for removal of petrol smell???

Thanks.

Re: Getting rid of the smell of petrol

If you air them outside for a few days a lot will evaporate as it is volatile.

Don't really know but I think leaving outside in the air will remove the majority of the smell.
