Cards - anyone play

Can anyone play cards and if you can what games can you play?Off the top of my head I can play these.....

Poker, stud and draw (can't stand this Americanised gametexas hold 'em)
Cribbage - prefer 6 card to 5 card.

Clobbiosh - great game
Rummie.
Bridge.

And the child games snap etc etc

And I like paitience too various sorts.

a game we used to play at lunchtime at work 30 years ago

. can't remember its name - you use 4 or 5 packs and take it in turns to put down say three 3s, next person say two 4s etc. Obviously much is bluff, but you have to take care. Correctly identify a bluff and the miscreant picks up the pile - blame them wrongly and it's all yours!

I used to play something called Rummy-bridge. As I don't know either rummy or bridge I'm not sure which one of these it resembled, but you have 13 cards and you need to put them all down either in runs or sets (you each pick up a card in turn and then 'throw one away'; 1st one to put all their cards down wins . . . the losers have to count their remaining cards up and the person with the highest score after all the games have been played is the loser.

Apart from that - pontoon is my limit I'm afraid

Used to play canasta when my parents were alive; don't know anyone who still plays it. Like poker (not that awful Texas thing, just regular 5 card draw, and Solitare...usually play a hand every night after dinner before going on line: relaxing.

21 - kids are getting quite good at this game

There was a game we used to play with my nan called Gin-Rummy but for the life of me can't remember the rules

Rummy, snap, 21, old maid and go fish - I normally only play cards with my younger brothers and sister so the games are fairly simple.

I much prefer Uno (but obviously you can't play that with a standard deck of cards).
