Favourite Christmas carol?

Totally not religious but I enjoy the tradition of the seasonal sacred songs. Don't knpw what my favourite is - I like Once in Royal David's City where it starts a traditional service with the lone chorister, I like Good King Wenceslas where the congregation splits into boys v girls and the boys take the kings voice & sing basso profundo and the girls squeak back a response as the servant . In the Bleak Midwinter is good, children singing Away in a Manger can move me, Silent Night is gentle and calm.

The devil certainly does not have all the best songs!

Do you have a favourite carol?

Re: Favourite Christmas carol?

I love all the traditional carols and having a strict Catholic upbringing ensured that know almost every word of every one of them

When I went to my uncles requiem mass yesterday I knew all the words to the hymns like it was only yesterday that I used to sing them

Away in a manger is my all time fav especially when sung by kiddies at a school nativity

The carol should be banned, encouraging putting kids in tree tops.
