My 'Garden'

I took some photos over the weekend of the start of my 'garden'. It actually looks a bit pathetic now I've taken photos!

The raised area at the back of the carpark that I'm , it's not very pretty but hopefully some plants will brighten it up a bit.

And some photos from my walk along the canal this weekend

Sorry, I thought I'd rotate those last two photos, not sure what I've done!

Those plants will brighten up the car park Liz! Hope you don't have to carry the watering can too far?

Loved the canal photos - didn't realise that they were on their side and was wondering why everything looked a bit abstract! The water looks like a mirage and the dog on a stick!!! Still it is nearly my bedtime!

That'll be great - we've all got to start somewhere.

I loved the canal pictures - canals are such an under-used resource

Re: My 'Garden'

Even a couple of planters full of flowers or edibles constitute a garden as far as I'm concerned! I think it's great that you're starting and once everything's in flower I'm sure it'll look brilliant!

The canal pictures are lovey. I adore the tranquility and stillness of canals . . . my brother's talking about getting a canal barge to live on - I really envy him!

completely agree with DM and Yola, once thet are in flower it will make all the difference I love lavender too, I had a beautiful big bush in my garden, but it got killed off by workmen trampling on it, sob sob. I'm on the lookout for a new one to put back in that spot.

Re: My 'Garden'

Everyone has to start somewhere. The great thing is that it looks as if you have lots of scope for adding whatever you want. So many gardens are full of other peoples ideas and stuff. You can design it which ever way you want.

It is amazing how few flowers can make a huge difference though.

The canal walk looks so nice. We were in Stoke Bruern?? a number of years ago and your pics reminded me of the lovely walk along the canal that we did when we were there.

Re: My 'Garden'

Thank you everyone, you're very kind! I have a few more flowers today which was very exciting as well as seeing a couple of bees.
We're very lucky to have the canal, you can't see it in the pictures but it actually runs behind the behind the trees of our outside space.
