Luckily we have patio doors in that room so opened them wide and waited. We are still finding little 'gifts' from it. I also can't get the culprit to own up although Tolly has been 'mooching' which usually means he has lost something and is just keeping a casual eye open...........

Who, Tolly, the picture boy of the innocent look?
We have gone through every other possibility and the ONLY way into the house was via the cat door. No windows left open, no way in via the fireplace.

Tolly is an ambitious lad but has come to an amicable agreement with the pheasant after a few run ins, ie 'I don't see you, you don't see me'. We are also visited by muntjac deer and he has been caught staring intently- PLEASE don't try and bring one of those through the cat door Tolly!
