Diarrhoea does cause them to strain, without getting too graphic but you must know yourself how it feels and as Shelly says it could be from the irritation in wall of the gut.

thanks everyone. I feel a lot more positive now. She seems well and happy in herself apart from diarrhoea, so I'll worm her tomorrow as vet advised and take her back next week.
