Onyx is getting bolder ......

Yesterday afternoon when I went out to feed her she was stretched out comfortably on the porch steps, looking very much at home! Just as if she had finally realized this was a safe place! She did spook when I opened the door and scarpered off under the azaleas; would not come back to the steps (I was hoping to coax her onto the porch, but she wouldn't). She knew perfectly well it was feeding time, and made a beeline to her feeding spot...I think this is an encouraging sign!

She was on the second step from the bottom, then under the azaleas.....

Wow - that is a good sign, Eileen!!! The little lady is getting braver and braver. How fantastic that she's trusting you more and more each day - it must be so rewarding for you.

Any chance you have the facility to leave the porch door open? you never know, you may just find her sleeping inside one day

I'm afraid I can't leave the porch door open, Fran: it's actually my outdoor living room...furniture, vases, plants, candlesticks and other paraphernalia which I'm afraid could be stolen...also it's Leia's Summer hangout..birdwatching, etc. She, for some reason, is scared of outdoors and runs from the porch when the door is opened, God knows why...
