Cherry tree


This is directly across the street from me; isn't it beautiful? It's the same variety as the ones at the Tidal Basin.

The ones around the Tidal Basin were a gift from Japan to President Taft; there are about 100 of them there, and a spectacular sight by the water ... there is a big festival every year. They're old and huge, not young like the one across the street.
