Happy New year everyone.

Good morning everyone and welcome to 2021. Let's hope it's a good one for us all and the world returns to some semblance of normality again.I hope everyone enjoyed last night as well. I'm sure the mulled wine and the southern comfort more than made up for the quietness. We had a big concert in Hagley Park on New Years eve ,followed by a massive fireworks display. I didn't go to the concert but could easily see and hear the fireworks from the back yard .My cats were terrified of the noise though.I always feel so sorry for the animals that are outside and have nowhere to shelter when fireworks are about.

Still no luck with the cane corso girl. She won't come near me at all. I stayed in the compound for 3 hours ,just reading my book while she cowered away in a kennel, right away from me. Food treats have no effect at all. I'm going out to see her again on Sunday. Her burns are healing but some on her back look rather nasty, despite the medication that is put in her food, so we are going to have her sedated and examined by the vet again. How anyone can do this to any animal is beyond belief.

PAMELA, I do hope you have a wonderful day today and that your meal goes well, as I'm sure it will.I'm glad your dad is able to share it with you.Let's hope Barney and Mia get to have a wee taste of it too.

SHELLEY, I do hope you have a wonderful day today as well. Sorry your dad couldn't be there with you, but I'm sure you and Howard will do something special. Happy Birthday to Malaika for yesterday. I hope she had a magical day.

YOLA, Happy New Year to you too. I hope you and your family have a wonderful day.

I've put up my 2 new calendars today - one in the kitchen and one in the lounge - and I've written in my brand new diary as well. They look so nice and new, but by the end of the year, they get a bit tatty. Last year, Willow got my new diary and chewed around the edges of it. I still was able to use it OK, but i was cross at the time. Now I would give anything to have her here to chew this year's one. Please everyone, give your kitties and doggies a special cuddle and tell them that you love them.

Anyway, Happy new Year everyone and enjoy your day.

Happy New year everyone.
Dinky it's heartbreaking about the cane corsa, does she have a name.
When I hear about cruelty it fills me with hatred.
I do hope eventually you will have success breaking through.
Pamela and Yola, hope you enjoyed your evening.
Malaika turned 11 yesterday, poor girl I'd been thinking she was 12,lol.
We took both dogs a walk by the river and managed to let her off lead for a short while.
She got a new chew toy which kwame loves and some squirty treat for the Kong.
We have to have them in separate rooms for this otherwise they'd kill each other.
We have snow.

Happy New Year!

I, predictably, have a bit of a hangover. So I’m lazing on the sofa watching the annual NYD concert from Vienna with Dexter curled up behind my legs.

The weather is cold and light grey outside but my plan is to do very little today.

Dinky, the experience of the Cane Corso (just looked it up as I hadn’t heard about them), sounds terrible. What an animal must have gone through to be so traumatised doesn’t bear thinking about. I hope you manage to slowly make a difference over time with your visits.
