It's a funny thing, I always just thought of my dad as being as strong as an ox and reasonably fit, it's not until something like this happens that the whole longevity/mortality thing kinda begins to sink in. Maybe thats a sign of just how much I take for granted...

Elaine - it's good to hear from you. Your poor Dad must have been terrified and your Mum too. I hope that with appropriate drugs your Dad's condition can be controlled and he can continue with a normal life.

My Dad - although never very healthy and strong - had a mild (so mild he hardly noticed it) attack and continued for many years after!

Thanx again for all your thoughts and wishes. Just about to get ready to go visit him soon. I may not be around an awful lot as i will be taking turns with my sister to stay with my mum over the next few days or so but I will pop on when i can and keep you all updated.
