Mini Tsunami and my sisters sandy knickers

My sister, it would seem, has the same run of misfortunes that I have.
Earlier this week she was walking a few dogs at the beach, not far from the mouth of the river don in Aberdeen. She had a beagle on extendable lead, a parsons russell and a basset hound, who were playing in the shallows.
While she was keeping an eye on the two dogs who were off lead, she heard someone shouting, turned and saw one of our clients waving and shouting to her.
Then........

Wooosh......

All of a sudden a huge wave washed right over her and the dogs. Obviously quite a frightening experience and she pannicked incase one or all of the dogs had been washed out to sea. Fortunately they hadnt and like the trooper she is, she carried on with her walk and talked and laughed with the client who was trying to warn her before heading home to get the sand out of her knickers and some dry clothes.
We were talking and laughing about it today.
My nephew was on a boat just off the Aberdeen coast and she was saying that if the dogs had been washed out, she could have called him and asked him to pick them up. I said it was more likely that he had caused the wave, he'd probably seen her and he and his work mates probably all counted to 3 then jumped up and down on the boat.

I needed a good laugh this week and that really made me laugh coz i could just picture the whole scene.
Almost as funny as the mental image I had of you today Pat, with one right size well and one man sized welly while walking the dogs.

I didn't think there could ever be another person as accident prone as you, Elaine
You and your sister seem to have the same sense of humour!

Re: Mini Tsunami and my sisters sandy knickers

I remember when my sister, myself and our dogs went for a few days break last year. We went to Tomintoul in the highlands and there was still ALOT of snow up there. One evening we went to give the dogs a wee walk. My wee dog will pee and poop on the road but Holly, my sister lab', wont, she likes to poop in long grass. Obviously b ecause of the snow there wasnt much grass around.
We walked down a quiet road next to a wood. The snow was piled high on the verge. Some how my sister thought it was all verge and encouraged her dog to go up it in order to get to the wood, and my sister followed her as Rayne and I watched in disbeleif. They both fell right through all the snow, my sister upto her waist in snow and poor Holly was gone.
I rushed to help Holly and then just wet myself laughing as I watched my sister try to get out of the high snow. Makes me laugh now when I think about it.
I just kept thinking WHY?????
