Yes, I think it's a fact that horrible memories, especially ones which can be blotted out at an early age, usually are! That's why the fears can seem irrational as there is no obvious explanation for them. It's also why hypnosis and similar therapies are so successful; they bring the memories to the fore and help us confront them.

Re: What is your Phobia?

I can remember being very small and sitting on the floor in the kitchen playing when a perfectly huge spider came crawling at me and terrified me. I suppose looking back it was probably just a normal sized house spider, but to a little kid it was enormous...

I don't fear, but do really dislike clowns and people dressed as funny animals; and am very very uncomfortable around bees/wasps!

No probs with snakes, had pet ones as a child....

Re: What is your Phobia?

I think fear of wasps or bees is a natural reaction to something that can sting you badly. I am actually allergic to wasp stings and have to leave the room if there's a wasp - it's been a bit funny telling new people at new places of work, but generally they've been supportive and don't laugh at me. Bees on the other hand, I have no fear of and will go out of my way to rescue them, especially bumblebees!
